Koh Phangan's Full Moon Party draws 10,000-30,000 people monthly. The crowded, chaotic environment creates opportunities for organized pickpocketing teams who work the dense crowds, especially between midnight and 4 AM. Buckets (shared cocktails) sold on the beach may be overly strong to disorient tourists faster, and cases of drink spiking have been reported. Bar staff may add extra drinks to your tab while you are dancing. Injuries from fire shows, broken glass on the beach, and alcohol-fueled accidents are common. The local hospital sees a large influx of tourist patients after every Full Moon Party.
